About me

Ubaydullah Ahmad is a polymath calligrapher based in London, working across traditional Arabic scripts, manuscript practice, and design. He trained for over eight years in Cairo, holding multiple ijazāt in classical calligraphic traditions, and completed an MA at the King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts.

His work explores the rhythm, structure, and intellectual foundations of the written word, drawing from early Kufic, Maghribi, and Ottoman traditions. His work has been exhibited and commissioned internationally, including by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and His Majesty King Charles III. Alongside his artistic practice, he teaches calligraphy, including at the King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts and Apex Secondary School, and lectures internationally.
